“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” - Proverbs 3:5–6

Last of August & A Thank you!

First, we want to give the Lord all the glory, honor, and praise! Second, we want to thank all of you for your faithful prayers. I shouldn't, but I still stand amazed to see the Lord's hand at work even in the small details. In August, we had two openings that I could not get booked. No matter how many churches I called, I made no progress. But alas, the Lord had other plans, and He wasn't ready for us to have those dates booked. Unknown to us, two churches would need someone to come rather last-minute. Would you know…. On those two dates! The Lord knew all along…. we have to trust Him and His timing. If we are doing everything we should, He WILL supply.

We also had a few more churches vote to take us on for support, officially taking us over the 20% mark!! Praise the Lord.

September - Buckle up, it’s missions conference season!

Even before we surrendered as missionaries, missions conference was our favorite time of the year at church. We are currently in our fourth consecutive conference. These four conferences have taken us through 19 different states, plus Washington, D.C., covering over 4,100 miles.

One of our favorite aspects of deputation is visiting different churches across the country and meeting new people. We have had numerous wonderful conversations with people from all around the world, right here in America. I had the opportunity to speak with a South African man while eating at Nando’s (a South African staple). His family was originally from India, but they were brought to the country by slave traders over 100 years ago. He was in a hurry, but I was able to give him a tract. There was another man from West Africa who was a first-time visitor to one of the churches. He stayed for the fellowship time after service, and we had some time to discuss salvation. He was lost but very receptive and seemed concerned that his good works would not be enough to get him to heaven. Would you please pray for these two men? To realize their need for a Savior and that they may come to know Christ!

Our travels allowed the kids the opportunity to check off their only requested places to see while traveling. Raya wanted to see the Statue of Liberty, and Lincoln wanted to see Honest Abe! The fact that God is allowing us to see so much while traveling and at no extra cost does not go unnoticed. We are so grateful and humbled by the opportunities He is allowing.

A Few Requests

One of the young men (Adrian) I met this summer in South Africa has a desire to grow more in his walk with the Lord. We have been talking back and forth since I left. Please pray for him and me as we talk and discuss living for Christ. And that we could consistently walk through God’s word together.

Also, please be in prayer for our vehicle situation. We left for our next conference this week, but the transmission in our van completely failed. It looks like the cost will be between $5,000 and $7,000 for repair or replacement. We are trusting the Lord and know He has a plan and purpose in everything we face. “My breatheran count it ALL joy.”

Thank you again for your continued and faithful prayers!

The Hooper Family (Blaine, Holly, Raya, and Lincoln)
