1 Thessalonians 5:24: "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it."
First, thank you all for your prayers and encouragement as we have launched out on deputation. This prayer letter will be a bit longer than our future letters, but I want to get you all up to speed with everything the Lord has done in our lives.
Joy, Sadness, and Peace
December was a joyous month! We saw the Lord work in the sale of our home. The buyer gave us the amount we asked for, paid all closing and real estate fees, and paid last month's mortgage.
In January, after we sold our house, we quickly completed our application and onboarding with VBM. We then went in for our final interview and received our acceptance! This was a joyful moment that we had been working toward for quite some time. Shortly after we left the VBM campus, I received a phone call that would quickly change the mood. David, a man I had the privilege of discipling, had unexpectedly passed away. I started working with him in mid-2024 and had come to love him like a brother. Bible study nights always began with going out for tacos. He spoke Spanish, so we would go get "real" tacos. Once we had filled our bellies, we would return to his place and dive into God's word.
He had some struggles, but I thank the Lord that he was saved through the jail ministry. I have no doubt that he was saved from the fruit in his life. David had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known and had the absolute best laugh. I praise God for the hope of Salvation. Please pray for David's family, especially his brother Victor. His family has been riding our bus for several years, and they have all been gloriously saved. But David's death has been extremely hard for them. Please pray for them to have "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding."
Goodbye, 9 to 5. Hello, open road.
On February 11th, I left my full-time job at Chick-fil-A to step out by faith on deputation. A fun side note: Chick-fil-A was my first full-time job in high school, and, Lord willing, Chick-fil-A will be my last secular full-time job.
We had two meetings already booked for the end of February but quickly got busy calling and booking more meetings. I thank the Lord for how he is already supplying! As of this writing, He has provided 38 meetings, and March is completely booked! I praise the Lord for His goodness.
Please pray for us as we adjust to life on the road and that we will be a blessing to every church and person we interact with along the way. We get to do this because of Him, and I want to share the glorious hope of the Gospel everywhere we go.
