July and August 2026

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

1 John 5:14–15

July & August 2026

July and August are, I would say, the most difficult months on deputation. Churches are busy with camp, VBS, people traveling, and other events. We were fully booked for both months! So thank you to each church that so graciously welcomed us in! Also, thank you so much to everyone who sent cards and notes for Lincoln’s 7th birthday and our anniversary!

July 3rd was a travel day for us, and we had the opportunity to stop at one of our supporting churches in Michigan for some fireworks! What started as a small church get-together has turned into an incredible outreach opportunity. Over 1000 people attended, and before the fireworks even started, they were all given a clear presentation of the Gospel.

We spent most of July in Michigan and Ohio and even had the opportunity to sneak away to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for a day and catch sunset at the Mackinac Bridge. Then we headed to the Virginias for August. We had to rearrange some of our meetings, but that gave us the opportunity to be part of and help with VBS at one of our supporting churches in West Virginia. This was the first year we missed VBS at our home church in Georgia, so we were thrilled to be involved. Holly helped with several activities for the kids, and I had the privilege of going door to door with the pastor, as well as teaching the adults’ class each night! A few kids realized their need for a Savior, and several have started attending church regularly.

We left straight from VBS to our first missions conference of the fall. We had several more wonderful meetings throughout the Virginias and Carolinas before finally making it back to Georgia for a couple of days.

On the African Front

People often tell us, “You guys are doing great on deputation!” We are certainly thankful for how well it has gone, but we know it is completely the Lord’s doing. All of last year, I prayed, “Lord, if I do the work and make the calls, would You please give us the churches You want us in?” And He has! We give Him all the glory and praise. The last church we visited in August took us on for support during the service, bringing us to 85% of our promised support. We cannot say it enough: glory to God for His faithfulness! (1 John 5:14–15)

Praises & Requests

Praise the Lord for reaching 85%! Please pray for our Visa appointment on September 28th at the South African Embassy in DC and that the Lord would supply the needed funds for the move, cars, etc. Please continue to pray for people in South Africa as well as for people on the way to be saved!

Thank you again for your continued and faithful prayers!
